iSkysoft Video Converter App Reviews

Not sure what happened. Worked great for months until a few weeks ago. Now it crashes when opening and needs to be deleted/reinstalled. I have done this several times. Works for a little while then crashes upon every app open. delete, reinstall…. wash rinse repeat. Getting old. Please fix.

I have been using iSkysoft converter for the past 2 years now, and no problems. However once I updated to OS Mavericks It always crashes when I try to open the app. I think the reason is because its not compatible iwth mavericks, but thats my guess. I hope there is a fix for this coming soon.

Today, when I opened the app (purchased 4 months ago) I received an error message that this app was “damaged” and would need to be deleted and re-installed. Only then did I discover that iSkysoft did not have a record of my purchase. This evidently was due to not purchasing it on their website, but instead through the App Store (which always seems a safer choice for purchasing apps). Fortunately, I did NOT delete it as instructed, but instead went to a list of purchased apps on my Mac, and noticed the opportunity to “update.” I did so, and the app then opened normally. I learned two things: 1) don’t believe the “damaged” app messages 2) don’t assume that the vendor will recognize your purchase. Both surprised me. Had I deleted the app, I doubt whether it would have been an easy task to re-establish my purchase. Not sure who is at fault for this strange sequence — iSkysoft or Apple. Probably both. Otherwise, I like using this app. I’m not a power user, but it does what I need.

Fast, easy. Can do multiple tasks at once and the YouTube to mp3 function is very handy. 5 stars.

This has saved me SO many headaches! It’s fast, reliable, integrated with other iSkySoft products…. has enabled me to convert videos into formats editable by Camtasia…I love it!

Was looking for something that would convert .movs to avi or wmv and maintain the custom file size. Most other converters had the wmv option, but would revert to set file sizes. Another problem was getting the highest rez possible without loosing quality. Well, there is a major quality shift from a hi-rez mov to a wmv or avi, but you are allowed to change bit settings - so there was a tad improvement, but not as much as I would like. Overall, iSkysoft Video Converter has served it’s purpose and is satisfactory.

The only reason I purchased this app was to download Youtube videos and now I receive a message that says, “Warning Can not download YouTube content” waste of my $25

I bought iSkysoft to originally to convert random videos to a common format. It does this great and has never had an issue handling any type of file format I can watch on the mac. Recently I was trying to figure out how to convert some FLAC recorded events to MP3 and I realized it also handles audio just as well as video. Kind of the Swiss Army knife of conversion apps.

This is one of those programs that you will eventually need!! Don’t bother looking around to try to find something for less money. I have already done that. This works great and I have used many times. Bite the bullet and pay the money. You will not be disappointed.

hangs at 1 second, tried it with multple files didnt convert any of them rip off of wondershare video converter which did work, even the free one. waste of money

I’m running El Capitan 10.11.14. I needed to convert an .asf to something I could use in Adobe Premier Pro CC. This app converted my source into ProRes quickly where Compressor or Media Encoder could not. Output Options include mp4 mov m4v avi 4K Video hevc video hevc mkv wmv mpeg-2 divx mkv mpeg-1 dv vob 3gp 3g2 ogv webm asf prores LT prores proxy prores 4444 apple intermediate codec dnxhd 720p dnxhd1080p There are too many to list but you will find every device, audio, and web codec imaginable.
